October 3rd – 1:45 AM

I’ve started writing this because I can’t sleep. Not after what I’ve seen. I live alone, in a quiet Illinois town just outside of Springfield. My days are simple—I work the evening shift at a small diner, come home, and unwind. That used to be enough. Until two months ago.

It began with a shadow. A figure. On the roof of the abandoned house across from mine.

And now… he’s getting closer.

October 6th – 2:12 AM

It’s happening again. At exactly 2:00 AM, I looked out the window and saw him. Tall, unmoving, staring at the sky. No motion, no sound—just this silhouette frozen in place like a statue.

The old house he stands on is broken beyond repair. Half the second floor caved in during a storm years ago. No one’s lived there since. So how is anyone even getting up there?

I told myself I imagined it. I even joked about it online.

But it’s no joke now.

October 10th – 2:00 AM

I tried to ignore it. Closed the blinds, avoided the window.

Then I heard the creaking. The same wooden creak I used to hear when my dad would step onto our porch back when I was a kid. But I wasn’t imagining it this time. I muted the TV and listened. Clear as day.

Creak. Creak. Pause. Creak.

I peeked through the blinds. He wasn’t on the old house anymore.

He was standing on the roof of the house next door.

October 13th – 3:18 AM

I saw his face.
I wish I hadn’t.

I made the mistake of tossing a stone at the roof—just to see if he’d react. He did. Slowly, like his bones were grinding together, he turned his head toward me.

His eyes… they weren’t eyes. Just pure white circles, glowing like twin moons. No iris. No blink. Just emptiness.

And yet, I felt it.

He saw me.

October 18th – 2:04 AM

He’s not just watching anymore. He’s moving. Closer each night. First the rooftop. Then the garage. Tonight, he was in my backyard.

I turned on the floodlight. Nothing.

But when I turned it off, he was there. One step closer to the window.

October 20th – 11:56 PM

I’m writing this from my basement. I’ve locked every door. Every window. My phone has no signal. The power flickered three times already. I don’t know what’s going to happen when the clock hits 2:00 AM.

If you’re reading this—never ignore the feeling that something is wrong outside your window.

And whatever you do… don’t look up at the rooftops at 2:00 AM.
